  • 1969-1975: Moscow Institute of Fine Chemical Technology "Lomonosov", Moscow, USSR: Chemical engineer.
  • 1980-1982: Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa, Italy: "Perfezionamento" studies.

  • 1975-1980: Research Laboratory for Inorganic Chemistry of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (RLIC HAS): gas-solid reactions.
  • 1980-1982: University of Pisa, Italy: synthesis and characterization of copper(I) complexes.
  • 1982-1997: RLIC HAS: surface modification of, and XPS surface studies on polymers.
  • 1998-present: IMEC CRC-HAS: surface modification of, and XPS surface studies on polymers.

Scientific interestet
  • Surface modification (by ion/atom beams, plasma immersion ion implantation) of engineering and bioengineering polymers (polyethylene, PTFE, PET, polycarbonate, polyamide, polyimide, polysulfone, organosilicon polymers...)
  • Surface chemical analysis by XPS (ESCA)
  • Nanomechanical and nanotribological analysis (hardness and Young modulus by nanoindentation, surface topography, friction and abrasive wear by nanoscratch measurements)
